About this role
Build and optimize machine learning capabilities for Walmart International recommendations, translating requirements into scalable, low-latency services. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will oversee small project teams, productionize prototypes on the cloud, and drive experimentation and reliability through monitoring and root cause analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Design scalable, low-latency services to host models
- Productionize prototypes on the cloud with training and inference pipelines
- Build, tune, and optimize ML models and data pipelines
- Create monitoring dashboards and perform latency tuning
- Run experiments using A/B testing and resolve production issues via root cause analysis
Technical Overview
Design production ML systems including cloud data pipelines, training & inference pipelines, and pre/post-processing routines. Lead model tuning, latency optimization, monitoring dashboards, and experimentation using A/B testing with offline evaluation and real-time execution.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a Staff Software Engineer with strong machine learning engineering experience, including productionizing prototypes with data pipelines, training and inference pipelines, and monitoring/latency tuning. They can lead small engineering teams, run experiments with A/B testing and continuous monitoring, and perform root cause analysis to resolve production performance issues.
