About this role
The temporary Store Clerk acts as the point of contact for customers and supports store profitability, customer satisfaction, and teamwork. The role includes unloading trucks, receiving and stocking merchandise, building displays, and operating the cash register and scanners for customer purchases.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as point of contact for customers
- Unload trucks and receive cartons and totes to stock shelves or move to sales floor
- Build merchandise displays and rotate/face merchandise
- Operate cash register and flatbed scanner to itemize purchases and handle payments
- Assist with cleaning tasks, bailing cardboard, and setting up sidewalk displays
Technical Overview
This role uses retail equipment and simple scanning/cash-handling workflows, including operating a cash register, a flatbed scanner, and hand-held scanners for merchandise ordering as needed. It also requires following plan-o-gram and merchandising presentation instructions.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an entry-level Store Clerk (Temporary) who can serve as a point of contact for customers while efficiently stocking merchandise and supporting store operations. They are comfortable operating a cash register and scanner equipment, following plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance, and complying with safety and company policies.
