Kiewit Power Engineering seeks a structural designer to join their Lenexa, KS team. The role focuses on developing BIM models, exchange of design information, and mentoring teammates while helping to establish and improve drafting standards.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate with design group team members to review and exchange project information
Check design for consistency, safety, operability and maintenance
Develop BIM models for foundations and steel structures
Leverage Building Information Modeling (BIM) to create plans, drawings, and details
Mentor other team members in design and modeling techniques

Technical Overview

Role centers on 3D structural modeling using BIM tools (Tekla preferred) and CAD workflows to produce foundations and steel structure drawings. Requires collaboration across disciplines to ensure design accuracy and data exchange.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a mid-level structural designer with 5+ years of structural design experience, preferably using Tekla, and strong CAD/BIM skills. The candidate should be able to mentor junior staff and contribute to department standards and tools.
