Summer Intern - Mechanical Engineer provides engineering support to improve reliability, availability, efficiency, and functionality across equipment, processes, and projects. The intern works with Generation Services mechanical rotating equipment teams and rotates through plant areas through the EIT (Engineer in Training) Program.

  • Interface with engineering, operations, and maintenance stakeholders; Rotate through plant areas via the EIT (Engineer in Training) Program; Support various engineering projects; Support rotating equipment mechanical issues and develop action plans; Support operational anomaly investigations and develop action plans

Supports mechanical engineering needs for generation plants, including fleet mechanical issues for rotating equipment, operational anomaly investigations, and the development of action plans. Requires strong Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and the ability to interface with operations and maintenance stakeholders across rotating equipment and multiple plant areas.

The ideal candidate is a current mechanical engineering student pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master's Degree, with strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and the ability to work independently. They should have interest in rotating equipment and be comfortable traveling to field sites and supporting operational reliability and anomaly investigations.
