Senior Systems Computer & Storage Engineer VP responsible for Linux, storage, and virtualization technologies in Morgan Stanley's Enterprise Compute; focus on Linux lifecycle management, automation, and security hardening in a primarily on-prem/cloud hybrid environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in Linux lifecycle management; Lead security hardening for Linux; Identify automation opportunities; Respond to alerts for Linux/VMware/storage; Maintain documentation in Confluence and code in Git
Technical Overview
Advanced Linux (RHEL) and VMware administration with NetApp storage expertise; scripting (Bash/Python/Ansible), REST API automation, and patching via Red Hat Satellite; infrastructure governance and CIS alignment; experience with Oracle DB in SAN environments.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior infrastructure engineer with 7+ years of Linux, VMware, and storage experience, including NetApp and CIS standards. They should be proficient in scripting (bash, python, ansible) and familiar with Red Hat Satellite for patching and security, with hands-on experience in a regulated financial services environment.
