About this role

Lead software quality engineering for Broadcom's vDefend security products, establishing test strategy, automating tests, and releasing product on a distributed scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Using an advanced testing strategy, create a comprehensive test plan addressing functional, system, scalability, performance, longevity, and churn
  • Initiate the QE lifecycle by crafting a test plan, conducting tests, automating them, maintaining integration in CI/CD, identifying defects, reporting issues, and launching the feature within tight deadlines
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust tests using Python in the Pytest
  • Develop high-quality complex Python tests on a distributed system on a scale and in a private cloud
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting best practices in software testing

Technical Overview

Focus on Python-based test frameworks (Pytest), REST APIs, virtualization (VMware vSphere), and networking expertise (TCP/IP, L2/L3). Cloud familiarity (AWS/Azure/GCP) and CI/CD integration are essential.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a mid-to-senior level software quality engineer with 6+ years in networking/security/cloud, strong Python and test automation skills, experience building distributed test frameworks, virtualization (vSphere), and cloud familiarity (AWS/Azure/GCP). They should be capable of leading test strategy, guiding junior engineers, and integrating tests into CI/CD in an agile environment.

Must-Have Skills

Minimum 6 years of strong background in networking or security or cloud-based technologies.Minimum 6 years of strong programming skills in PythonYAMLBashand object-oriented programming.Minimum 4 Years of Virtualization experience in InstallationConfiguration & Administration is required. Good understanding of IO subsystems and virtualization.
