About this role
Technical Specialist II/III/Sr - Automation will support and advance Williams' automation systems in natural gas/petrochemical settings, including PLC programming, HMI development, and troubleshooting of control and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs moderately difficult assignments to ensure system integrity, support pipeline operations, maintain compliance and facility equipment
- Troubleshoots/resolves sophisticated problems using technical evaluation and judgment
- Develops, presents and trains internal and external partners; may mentor others
- Participates in project planning with company partners
- Configures, builds, and maintains HMI screens for station and unit systems
Technical Overview
Focus on industrial automation with PLC/HMI, control system configuration, firmware management, instrumentation, and cross-site collaboration; requires strong MS Office skills and travel readiness.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior automation engineer with eight or more years in natural gas or petrochemical environments, proficient in PLC/HMI programming, and experienced with station/unit controls, firmware updates, and reliability practices.
