About this role
Nucor is seeking a Technical Writer/Illustrator to create and update manuals and service bulletins, and produce illustrations from CAD data. The role requires strong writing skills, CAD literacy, and collaboration with engineering and support teams in a hybrid in-office setting in Jackson, WI.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and update documentation (installation manuals, owner's manuals, service bulletins, work instructions)
- Create exploded views, parts lists, cutaway drawings from engineering drawings and CAD models
- Communicate with internal departments to understand product requirements
- Produce documentation that meets style guides and standards
- Modify and maintain document development and long-term storage architecture
Technical Overview
Scope includes authoring installation and owner manuals, creating exploded views and cutaway drawings, and maintaining document storage. Tools include Adobe Creative Suite and CAD software (SolidWorks). The candidate must read blueprints and comply with internal style guides.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mid-level technical writer with 2-5 years of experience in technical writing, proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, and capable of producing exploded views, parts lists, and cutaway drawings from CAD models. They will collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to deliver manuals that meet internal standards.
