About this role
Therapist at Cumberland Hospital for Children and Adolescents provides therapeutic treatment to children/adolescents with complex behavioral needs; works within an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement goal-directed treatment plans and discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and administer therapeutic treatment, behavior modification, and stress management therapy
- Discuss progress with residents and families
- Develop discharge planning with resident, family and placing agency
- Assess treatment goals and write goal-directed treatment plans
- Monitor and modify treatment plans as goals change
Technical Overview
Clinical scope includes assessment, goal-directed treatment planning, family involvement, and coordination with placement agencies; emphasis on pediatrics and development disabilities within a hospital setting.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a master's level therapist with Virginia licensure or eligibility, experienced with pediatric/adolescent behavior problems, brain injury, autism; comfortable working in interdisciplinary teams.
