Category Engineering (Non-Software)

Designs and analyzes thermal systems for Amazon Leo satellites, performing preliminary and detailed thermal analyses on bus and payload subsystems, developing scripts to accelerate trades, and correlating models with test data.

  • Support architectural trades with thermal analysis on spacecraft; perform from conceptual to detailed analysis of bus and payload subsystems; develop automated scripts for rapid analysis updates; design, analyze, and select heat pipes; define and execute TVAC and thermal cycling tests and correlate results

Uses thermal analysis software (Thermal Desktop, SINDA, Ansys) with scripting (Python, MATLAB) to optimize heat pipes, MLI blankets, radiators; conducts TVAC tests and CFD analyses; supports test planning and correlation with mission models.

The ideal candidate is a mid-level thermal design engineer with 1+ year of spacecraft thermal experience, strong in thermal analysis software, scripting, and test planning, and able to collaborate with cross-functional teams on satellite bus and payload subsystems.
