About this role
This role troubleshoots and maintains PLC-driven electrical and manufacturing equipment, and performs program/software design and redesign. The technician also supports computer setup tasks (hard drive formatting and application installation), reports equipment status, and contributes to process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Trouble shoot PLC's (Programmable Logic Controller) using hand held device or laptop
- Design and redesign program and software (PLCs, operator panels, etc)
- Install, maintain or repair electrical energy equipment in manufacturing
- Locate and diagnosis trouble in electrical systems or equipment using blue prints/drawings/layouts
- Perform process improvement (Plan and submit process improvements and execute the plan)
Technical Overview
Hands-on industrial maintenance focused on PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) troubleshooting using a hand held device or laptop, plus electrical systems diagnostics using blue prints/drawings/layouts. Involves PLC and operator panel software redesign, serial port communication systems knowledge, VFD's (Variable Frequency Drives), process control instrumentation (thermocouples, pressure switches), and Servomotors/drive units, along with measurement/testing instruments and electrician tools.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a maintenance technician with experience troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems in a manufacturing environment. They can redesign PLC and operator panel program/software, perform electrical/equipment diagnostics using blue prints and drawings, and support continuous process improvements.
