About this role
This role troubleshoots PLC systems and supports electrical/electronic maintenance in a manufacturing environment. The technician also performs programming and software changes, installs computer components/applications, and contributes to process improvements while keeping the work area safe and organized.
Key Responsibilities
- Trouble shoot PLC's using hand held device or laptop
- Design and redesign PLC and operator panel programs and software
- Format hard drives and install computer setup/PC application components
- Install, maintain, or repair electrical energy equipment and diagnose faults from blue prints
- Execute process improvements and maintain safe, clean, organized work areas
Technical Overview
Key technical duties include troubleshooting PLC's (Programmable Logic Controller) using a hand held device or laptop, designing and redesigning PLC software/programs and operator panel programs, and formatting/installing hard drives and PC applications. The job also covers electrical troubleshooting using blue prints and foundational knowledge of serial port communication systems, VFD's (Variable Frequency Drives), process control instrumentation devices, thermocouples, pressure switches, servomotors, and drive units.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a maintenance technician with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) troubleshooting experience and basic knowledge of serial port communication systems, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), and process control instrumentation. They can read blue prints, use measuring and testing instruments, and contribute to process improvement initiatives while working safely at heights when required.
