About this role
Maintain and repair tractors, trailers, and transportation equipment using a preventative maintenance schedule. Inspect equipment, troubleshoot issues, complete work orders, and support drivers with road calls when problems arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on tractors and trailers
- Inspect equipment and ensure safe operation
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions
- Make road calls or assist drivers via telephone
- Complete work orders and follow safety procedures
Technical Overview
Performs scheduled preventative maintenance and diagnostic repairs across engine, drive train, electrical, suspension, brakes, lights, and safety equipment on heavy-duty transportation equipment. Works independently, manages time effectively, and documents repairs through work orders.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced heavy-duty trailer/tractor mechanic who can perform preventative maintenance and repairs on engines, drive train, electrical systems, brakes, lights, and suspension. They are able to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, complete work orders, and support drivers with road calls while following safety procedures.
