About this role
Transmission Line Engineering Intern at PG&E supports the planning, design, evaluation, and maintenance of overhead transmission lines and related infrastructure, working with experienced engineers and field teams in Oakland.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports transmission line engineering activities related to design, evaluation, and maintenance of overhead transmission lines and structures
- Assists with analysis of engineering data, drawings, and calculations related to transmission line projects
- Prepares and reviews field investigation data, engineering studies, and technical documentation
- Reviews field inspection and construction reports to confirm work is in accordance with engineering standards
- Supports field work related to site visits, inspections, measurements, and verification of transmission assets
Technical Overview
Focus on transmission towers/poles, conductor and hardware evaluation, foundation and right-of-way considerations; using AutoCAD; knowledge of structures and power systems; hybrid work environment.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a college student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering, with AutoCAD experience, EIT/FE eligibility, a 3.0 GPA, and willingness to work in Oakland on a hybrid internship.
