Position Details
About this role
Scale AI is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for Trust and Safety to own fraud/abuse detection models end-to-end. You will design and productionize signals from identity, behavioral, and third-party data, leveraging AI coding tools and a strong SQL/Python foundation.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the model lifecycle — labels → features → deployment → iteration
- Ground truth and feature store design across data sources
- Design and ship detection systems using clustering and anomaly detection
- Move fast with AI-assisted development tools
- Communicate model performance and tradeoffs to ops leads
Technical Overview
You will operate across the full stack—from data modeling to production deployment—using Snowflake, Python, and rule engines, with emphasis on unsupervised methods and alerting/monitoring pipelines. Communication with Ops and engineering is essential to translate model outputs into real-world actions.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior data scientist (5–8 years in DS/ML) with proven production fraud/abuse detection experience, expert SQL and Python skills, and the ability to work across the full stack including Snowflake DDLs and alerting systems. They should be comfortable with AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code) and capable of operating at scale in a Trust & Safety role.
