About this role
Mattermost seeks a Software Engineering Manager to lead a small, agile full-stack team building mission-critical capabilities for US national security customers on the Mattermost platform, with hands-on responsibilities and customer-facing collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a small, agile full-stack engineering team
- Own end-to-end engineering delivery lifecycle
- Interface with US national security customers
- Define roadmaps with product/design stakeholders
- Maintain engineering standards for code quality, security, and documentation
Technical Overview
Lead end-to-end engineering across frontend (React) and backend (Go/Node.js), own architecture decisions, and uphold security standards for defense-grade software; leverage AI tools and remote/distributed team collaboration.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an engineering manager with 5+ years of software experience, 2+ years in leadership, strong full-stack skills (React, Go, Node.js), and experience in a defense/DoD environment with eligibility for security clearance.
