About this role
Vice President, Actuarial & Data Development leads actuarial analysis, pricing strategy, and data analytics for insurance offerings, including captive programs; collaborates with underwriting, finance, and governance teams to ensure sound pricing and reserving practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Collaboration & Business Planning: Partner with executive leadership to define pricing strategy, capital management, and enterprise risk frameworks
- Insurance Strategy & Support: Lead actuarial pricing and reserving support for insurance programs, including feasibility assessments and performance monitoring
- Technology & Innovation: Promote predictive modeling, machine learning, and automation within actuarial workflows
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and actuarial standards; regulatory filings and governance
- Team Development & Leadership: Mentor actuarial team and lead training, knowledge sharing, and planning initiatives
Technical Overview
Strong actuarial scope with emphasis on pricing and reserving, plus data analytics using SAS/R/Python/SQL and BI tools like Power BI; requires ACAS designation and regulatory experience.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an executive-level actuary with ACAS (FCAS and MAAA preferred), 7–10+ years in P&C pricing and reserving, and leadership experience. Proficiency in SAS/R/Python/SQL and strong communication for regulatory and governance purposes are essential.
