About this role
AECOM is hiring a Water/Wastewater Project Manager to lead and support projects for water and wastewater clients, primarily in Arizona with some national work. The role includes technical oversight, planning/design coordination, client presentations, contract negotiations, and scope/schedule/budget delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical oversight of design staff for municipal water and wastewater projects
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities
- Coordinate contract negotiations and draft professional service agreements and addenda
- Develop and manage project work plans including scope schedule and budget
- Monitor subcontractor and team compliance and report financial status
Technical Overview
The position focuses on water and wastewater infrastructure project delivery, including water distribution and sewage collection systems, pump stations, reservoirs, hydraulic structures, and treatment facilities. It also involves managing technical design teams and using tools such as ArcGIS, AutoCAD, REVIT, MicroStation, SWMM, and/or Storm/Sewer/WaterCAD.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a Water/Wastewater Project Manager with a Civil or Environmental Engineering background and 8+ years of related experience managing water and wastewater infrastructure projects. They provide technical oversight for municipal design teams, lead scope/schedule/budget delivery, and have (or can obtain) an Arizona Professional Engineer (PE) license within 6 months.
