About this role
Welder/Fabricator role responsible for MIG welding as a minimum and fabricating, maintaining, and repairing component parts and products. Works from instructions, diagrams, and blueprints, performing quality control to identify defective items.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding (TIG preferred) and tack welding
- Fabricate, maintain, and repair component parts and products
- Read and follow instructions, diagrams, and blueprints
- Operate heavy machinery including cranes and forklifts
- Perform quality control and handle defective items per procedure
Technical Overview
Performs welding across varied positions (including tack welding and overhead burning), working with aluminum and other metals. Uses shop equipment and power tools (gougers, skill saws, cut saws, grinders) and operates cranes and forklifts while following detailed technical instructions.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an entry-level Welder/Fabricator with 1-3 years of related welding experience and proven skills demonstrated by a welding test. They can perform MIG welding as a minimum (with TIG welding preferred), fabricate and repair components using blueprints and technical instructions, and consistently maintain quality control and workplace safety. They are comfortable operating equipment such as forklifts and cranes and using common shop tools for welding and fabrication.
